they're watching...

Recently I gave my boys "A Young Man after God's own heart" by Jim George.  We had, with moderate success being doing family devotions but I needed something that would make me and them accountable. We do Awana's and Sunday School but I think they think it's very structured and regimented...I can tell they're minds are..."Oh that's for church.  I believe that stuff...but does it really apply to my life?"

What a blessing the book has already been.  We're all reading from the same book so we can share ideas and whatever comes up.  I was struck by the simplicity of the book, the honesty, and candor.

Think about the ways you lead your children to the Almighty God?  We all pray for them and with them...but shake things up a little.  Lead them on a scavenger hunt involving verses.  Take them out to God's glorious nature and apply that to the bible...and don't forget all the little things that happen in life that can be applied to scripture.  Taking them to church is the minimum...they learn more about God by the life we lead (the good, bad and ugly), what we watch on t.v. and what they see up read.

Well I weigh in tommorrow...so if you don't stop by...that's alright! (I slipped on my son's birthday...into his cake...with my mouth wide open.)
Blessings.
