what gifts shall I bring?

epiph·a·ny noun \i-ˈpi-fə-nē\
plural epiph·a·nies
Definition of EPIPHANY
January 6 observed as a church festival in commemoration of the coming of the Magi as the first manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles or in the Eastern Church in commemoration of the baptism of Christ.

Yes so after all that huff about traditions...
My family celebrates Epiphany or
Three Kings day....depending on your location.

What do we do?
Well we finally gather around the nativity and
nearly dead tree...
thinking about what gifts we can bring to God this year.
We have a box that we put these statements in...
and then we open it next year!
I have to admit...I don't know where the box is right now...
so we might have have to start anew tonight.
Anyhoo...

What gifts do you need to bring to Jesus in your life today?
The gift of time? Spending more time reading God's book
and less time reading, surfing, channel watching?

What gifts do you need to bring to God?
Your family by being a blessing to them.
Do something special for a family member...
get your hubby his fav coffee, or your daughter a cute journal...
all in the name of...
well just because.

There are many gifts we can give the Lord...
since He gave us His perfect gift....
His SON!

With that said...here's a little excerpt from my
son giving his gift "music"
playing the sax Christmas eve...
He usually plays the piano...but he's been playing the sax a year now and has moved on.

That's another thing...sometimes our gift changes and we need to switch up what we give to other people and to God as well.

He also arranged the accompaniment
(funny to see him trying to direct our very talented music minister)
and it's aptly titled...
We Three Kings...
(Please excuse the tilted video (it's only a minute)..head in the way...and cutting off at the end...
that's all I can do with my phone... sorry folks)

Blessings!

Totally blown away by what my boys said....well one in particular. My oldest didn't really give an answer this year with what gifts he'd bring to Jesus. My youngest didn't either...and then out of no where....my middle son said...
"I'm going to start a bible club at my school during lunch and we'll talk about Jesus."
WOW...out of the mouth of babes.
Pray that this actually happens and the Lord uses Him and he doesn't get sifted by the enemy.
