struck that he called his HOUSE phone.
He wanted Nathan's cellular!
I had to tell this wet-behind-the-ear 11 year old...
my son
doesn't a cell...
and right now...
doesn't need one...
"Now, would you like to leave a message?".
"No, I'll call back later."
He did.
Problem solved.
Why do parents (myself included) adultize (my words) our children?
We think it's cute to give them things that adults should really only have.
I'm guilty.
My bigger boys have a facebook.
The older really needed it...but the younger didn't.
I just thought it was cute.
Our kids are getting bigger and bigger everytime we blink...
and one day they will be adults.
Let's keep them kids a little longer.

AMEN SISTER! Mine don't have cell phones, personal computers, or $200 UGGs. I plan to keep it that way for quite a while longer. I do see more need with kids who's moms work to have the cell phones, but I always know where my kids are and am usually with them or driving them, so I'm not seeing the need for the cells anytime in the next few years.
I've seen little girls as young as 8 years old with cell phones and I couldn't understand why???? My two older kids got one over a year ago, but that was because we knew they needed them when they were either at their friends, or off at camp. But, my almost 10 year old wonders why he can't have one and I just ask him what he needs it for? He's always with us! LOL
I agree. Of course my daughter is only 4 1/2, but I can only imagine that I'll want her to have a cell phone out of safety reasons when she starts going out on her own.
