Wishlist Wednesday!

Well I don't believe in Santa...
And that's ok...
I'm posting a Christmas list....
anyway!

For my family to be healthy
and for God to reign in our lives
for more fireside monopoly chats
and days without allergic hives...

for more time outdoors making forts
and for me to stay a little loose
when boys make weapons out of plants
and use my favorite bushes for a caboose

I pray for more boating with family
yes...all five of us on the lake
and if we get adventurous
maybe to the ocean we can take...

I'm praying for weight loss
and less vanity too...
I'm sorry but I like clothes
but I don't want to be a size 2
(or a 22 for that matter...)

Yes I'm praying for good relations
between family and friends
I'm grateful that right now
I can't think of any strained feeling between 'em

I'm praying I do my bible study...
purposely and not rush through every single day...
since life always goes better...
when I focus on the Lord in a profound way.

I'm praying to not shuffle through my walk with God...
that I focus on Him with all my heart...
and genuinely love Him and praise him...
as if my believing was just at its start...

So from wishing to Santa
and to the Lord I pray...
this is the start of my
Christmas prayer list today!

BTW...I now have 2 out of 3 kids not believing in Santa...and it's hard to not lie this time of year...I don't say Santa exist...but I do play along a bit...(I always make sure I screw up in some way and explain to them that Nicolas was a man who wanted to do good....and the only TRUE gift giver...is the LORD!)

I was at the mall with Katie and believe me, the Grove had a FANTASTIC santa set-up, and she was all yelling at the top of her voice, "MOOOOMMMMM THERE IS NO SANTA, YOU KNOW THAT" Oh my I was so embarassed and kind of afraid one of those moms with two toddlers in tow would come whack me on the head with her $500 diaper bag.

We have never "done" santa, we say it's a fun story or a fairy tale. We are inconsistent though; we let them believe in the tooth fairy all they want. Katie is a total TF devotee.

I'll join you in that prayer.

I like when you said "to stay a little loose"....good way of putting it.
