consuming desire...

If you've read my blog for any length of time you know that I have three boys. Each with their own personalities, likes and dislikes and consuming desires.

You think consuming desire is a strong set of words.

Not really.

Consuuuummmmiiinnnggg desires...
for various things.

one trains, police, paramedics and all things firefighter related!

Another is consumed with garage band and writing music.

Another is so consumed with Nintendo DS Mario Kart that when he awakes...
he jumps out of bed...
and starts looking for the DS...

If I don't get to him quickly...he'll start playing it.

How do we get out of bed?

Are we consumed with the worries of the day ahead?
Fantasizing about some vacation or a redecorated room?
Thinking about the loss of income and the state of the economy?
Do we wake up consumed with thoughts of our Savior?

We should.

Acts 19:19-20
And many of those who practiced magic brought their books together and began burning them in the sight of everyone; and they counted up the price of them and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.
SO THE WORD OF THE LORD WAS GROWING
Mightily and PREVAILING....

God's word can only grow and prevail...

if we are consumed with Him.

Blessings.

I have started reading from a book of Christian poetry that is special to me when I first get out of bed in the a.m. It really is helping me focus my morning and day on the right things right from the start.

I've been trying to refocus and set my mind on different things. It's been easy to get consumed with things that don't matter...that stresses me out. Consuming my thoughts on Him seems like a much calmer thing to do :)
