Greasy salvation....

If you have kids in pre-school inevitably you'll get this phone call.
"Lorrie...I just wanted to let you know..."
It was the co-director of our church's Nursery/Pre-school department.  Her mild mid-western voice called for me on the line.

Then she went on to say...

lice...in one of the children...

"yes it's in your son's class."

We talked about who she alerted and I told her...don't tell me who it was...'cause I really don't want to know...

then out of nowhere...I laughed.

That's right...laughed...

You see the hair that gives my son fits when I don't cut it every two weeks...
those tightly coiled brown pads of steel...

usually has something covering it every Sunday...

Grease.

Yep...good ole' fashioned grease.

A while back it would have been the Shea Butter and sweet Almond oil Hair Milk from Carole's Daughter (I know, but only on Sundays...but in this economy that's out...) but usually it's the beauty supply store Royal Crown...

That goop...which my boys hate...

is something that lice can not attach themselves too.

I help out in the same class...but my extensions and my hair are covered with grease too!

Praise the Lord for grease.

But that got me thinking...

Original sin has come to all of us...(like lice in a child's hair...)  what have we done to keep ourselves from falling to the world and the lice that lies within it...

are we covered?

Not with grease but with the forgiveness in the blood of Jesus?
Many "Christians" are playing church, dying and going to hell and they don't even know it.
Jesus says that some will says "Lord, Lord," and He'll say..."I NEVER knew you."  Sad...they think they actually knew Him...but they never did.
They're running around making sure their family does everything morally right, making sure they do everything right...and probably getting ready to stop reading this post.  Some folks are uneasy when we discuss salvation...WHY?

Times are too close to His coming to now be sure.

"For this is my blood in the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sin." Matthew 26:28.

Ephesians 1:7 says we ONLY have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

Just like grease covers the head and saved Bry and myself from lice...
ONLY
the blood that Jesus personally shed for us on the cross brings us to salvation, to live a life eternally in heaven.

If you feel any inkling that you don't have this forgiveness....please click here.

Remember one day the "lice" of Satan will take over this world...rapture will have occurred and God's church (true Christians) will be gone

...you will only go if you're covered...

Blessings.
