Friday flashback...I couldn't resist.

O.k. so Beth over in NC is doing Friday Flashback photos courtesy of Alicia so...I couldn't resist jumping on the bandwagon too.  She was bold enough to use her wedding photo...so I jumped as well.
Note: first of all I selected a photo where you couldn't see my pasted early 90's hair. Second of all...of course my wedding had a beach theme...(I love the water...second it wasn't hard to have a beach theme when you live near the ocean.)  Boy my dress was long and our hopes were so high.  Well that was 16 years ago...and no one could have told me how HARD being married is at times.  It's a great ride...but it's hard work to allow God to use you to be part of a team.

I think the key to making things a little easier is to do things that are family centered.  If you consistently hang with women who aren't family oriented...you'll develop the "grass is greener on the other side" syndrome.  If you're friends aren't respectful of your husband and your family..."you'll start to complain and nag" like they do.  So...although this is suppose to be a flashback Friday photo...I can't help but post a little about keeping our relationships in line.  If you're not married...lift up a prayer for some married folks you know...your boss, your pastor...whoever.  And if you're married like I am do what my husband and I do.  We don't engage in activities that aren't family friendly.  You won't find him hanging with friends at a bar and I'm not going to girl's night out at the sushi club.  Come to think of that...that wouldn't be moving forward...that would be a bad 80's flashback.

Blessings.

I clicked on your picture and made it big. You look beautiful!!!!

Have you read the book, "Created to be His Help Meet" by Debi Pearl? It is really good -- life changing.

I'm so glad you joined the Meme! Did you link up with Alicia so others could come see ya?

Oh my gosh..I agree with you 100% when it comes to our marriages. It's so important to surround ourselves with like minded Christians so we can encourage each other and build each other up in our marriages. Even with friendships, you don't want to be unequally yoked. Not to say that we can't be friends w/ unsaved people, but we should still love them and show them Christ through us.

Oh...and I wanted to say that I love your picture!! Wow..you live by the beach? How awesome is that! You have such a beautiful family!!! I'm so glad you did the meme, too!! I'm going to be a new follower..LOL!

Thanks alot Beth! Can you tell I'm getting NO work or school done today. My son has been at homeschool co-op since 11. I think I'll go bother...I mean...call my hubby at work. Blessings.

I love the picture...the setting for your wedding was beautiful. I also really liked your words of wisdom about who you choose to hang out with...I've ended friendships with women I enjoyed but who disrespected my marriage or my husband by their attitudes and actions. Definitely a no contest decision.

Beautiful photo! And I definitely agree with you about only doing things that are family friendly. Once you are married, life changes forever from that point on.
