You can suffer and be in God's will!

I don't know if you got the memo but I misplaced mine.
NOTE TO SELF - Christians can suffer and still be in God's will.

Remember the account of Joseph in Genesis where he's trying to avoid Potipher's wife...she gets him alone, his cloak is left and she screams rape.  He's thrown into jail...but here's the kicker... verse 20- 21 says "Joseph's master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king's prisoners were confined.  But while Joseph was there in prison, the LORD was with him;..."

Did I read that right?  The Lord was with him?  Joseph does the right thing, doesn't fall into temptation, and then he's wrongly accused.  He's put into prison and his living standards drop like our housing market and ....The....Lord....was...with...him!  Maybe it's me but I KNOW for a fact if I did the right thing, got in trouble for doing the right thing, had to be punished unfairly and lost my standard of living...my friends wouldn't initially be thinking the Lord was with me. And I know I'd question their walk with God if hard times fell upon them.  We're all so judgemental!

We as humans have a bad habit of thinking if something is going wrong in another person's life then God is punishing them.  They're grown son isn't acting right...they must be doing something wrong.  She lost her job...she must be doing something wrong.  Her husband won't come to church with her...she's got to be doing something wrong.  If something is going "wrong" in our lives...well God is silent and He doesn't care.  Well that's incorrecto!  Wrong...way wrong!

God cares about you through the good and the bad, the worse, and the downright ugly.  When life is going well and things move along with a clip...He's there. When life is coming at you with a vengeance and you're just trying to make it...God is still there.  He's still on his thrown.

Just something I read about that made me say....NOTE TO SELF...regardless of my human circumstances, whether I have mucho money or I'm stretching things to payday.  God is still there.  If my kids are acting great...or I'm walking ahead of them (pretending they're not mine)...God is still there.  Regardless if I feel my husband is the love of my life...or some gum on the bottom of my shoe...God is still there. Even if I don't "feel" like God is still there...He's still there.

Folks God is still there and He's still with us.
I just love that.

"God is my refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. The Lord of host is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge." Psalm 46:1,7

I really needed to hear that today. Sometimes you know God is with you but it's good to hear it from others.

Very well put and I agree He is with us when we do not think that He is. We can look at it also as when we are having problems or something is not going correct, it is just another test to pass.

God is good ALL the time. It's so awesome to know He can always be trusted no matter how bleak things may appear to be. Praise His Name!

I'm living proof that you can suffer and be in God's will. When I started having seizures, I had a conversation with someone....

Someone: God's trying to teach you something.

Me: What's He trying to teach me?

Someone: I don't know, but pray and he'll show you.

Me: Oh, okay, well....He's teaching me that He will never leave me nor forsake me. He teaching me that He's Jehovah Jirah my provider. He teaching me that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. I have learned that I may walk through the valley of the shadow of death I'm not afraid.....

Yes it was hard on me and the family, but God had His hand on me the whole time. After a seizure, my family would be praising and worshiping the Lord. I say amen to Everybody's Mama comment. God is good ALL the time.

Isn't that the truth. I'm a firm believer in God is Good all the time...regardless of if I "feel" it or not.
