It's weighing on me being so weighty.

Well I think I'm at the end of my "fatgirl" rope.

I look at my reflection in the mirror and I don't even recognize myself.

I don't think diets really work for me...because I don't work the diet very long.  I've been on Weight Watchers (twice), Nutri-System, Jenny Craig, and Atkins. I've taken the diet shot and just about every diet pill out there...even the ones you have to see the doctor for.  I've tried long stints in the gym and long walks.  The only thing that worked was going to the gym and working out for over an hour 3 times a week.  (That was about 15 years ago - before I had kids.)  With the gym charging $5 a kid for childcare per hour and the cost of gas...that really isn't an option. I enjoy the gym but I need to figure out a way to go without childcare being a factor and family time not being trampled.

I'm asking you busy moms (don't respond if you're naturally thin...I hate to say...I won't listen) how do you keep weight from creeping up on you?

I think the key is starting small and sticking with it for the long haul.  I have to admit that every time I've dieted I've only thought of being "restricted" for 6 or 8 months.  Right now...close to the Ides of March...I'm going to work on one thing this week.

I've decided to post a gain or loss every Saturday morning.  Today I'm starting at 0.  I don't want to post my weight...because a lady never says how much she weighs.  I'm praying that they'll be a little less of me next Saturday.

I'm posting about my Saturday experience here. Was in a special ed advocacy meeting all day so I didn't overeat as much. Movement...that would be a 0.

Sending encouragement from the other side of the US! I know what you mean about not recognizing yourself in the mirror. Somehow I always do better when I try to lose weight with friends. The problem is they always give up before me then I cave! I guess just the whole accountability thing helps me. As for exercise, out in the yard with the kiddos is about all I can do as there is no gym nearby. Even walking is out in the summertime because of snakes! I suppose the resulting 'running' would probably be good for me though!
