How to get it done...

Yesterday I spoke to a young women who asked me?  "Ms. Lorrie - How do you get everything done everyday and how do you not forget what you're suppose to do?"

HA!
Little does she realize Ms. Lorrie forgets lots of things she's suppose to do. Everything on my list never gets done. And if it wasn't for the grace of God my kids would run around in dirty rags most days. (o.k. they do...but that's by choice...work with me here.)

"Well I use...List. Computer stickies. The oven timer. Telling my kids. (They're good for reminding you about the park.) Telling friends (They're good for putting you back on track.)...but not all friends." I answered...of course that got me thinking.

Folks, how do you remember what you're suppose to do in a day?  I'm just curious.

Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard!  Consider her ways and be wise, Which, having no captain, overseer or ruler, provides her supplies in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.

The rest of that verse section in verse 10 says that a little sleep, a little slumber, a little facebook, a little blogging, a little internet surfing, a little tv, a little rest and you'll end up poor in many things.  Read it for yourself to see what it REALLY says.

The concept is the same. We are to be about...doing what we need to do. This young woman doesn't want to do that...and many young kids under 30 or 25 don't either.  Is it the culture? Have we raised them to believe working hard is bad, undesirable and leisure and ease of life is good?

With that said...I'd better get like the ant...and get to my housework.

Your kids run around in dirty rags?! How dare you be just like me?! lol

It's amazing how much we can get done in one day. Although sometimes I think we as women can be too hard on ourselves if we don't scratch off everything on our "to do list"

Ummm....my 3rd timer has just broken and I'm lost.....also, my kids have to wear their jeans twice before I wash them.
Whew! So glad to confess to someone that my kids wear dirty clothes! lol
