"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are"

We interrupt this week of Teddy Roosevelt with some new dieting details!!

O.k. now that I'm trying to make another serious attempt at controlling my eating...what happens?

I end up at the beach bakery and buy those cookies I can't stop eating.  My sons find some chocolate in the back part of the pantry and I just happen to have some strawberries around...and to top it off...I made quick pasta Alfredo last night for dinner.  If that wasn't enough...my husband comes back from skating with the youth and one of the mother's sent scones home with him.
(hence the picture...isn't my plate cute?)
What's a fat girl to do?

Do you see where I'm headed?  There are forces about that would like to trip up any attempt we Christians want to make headway in.   Any attempt of killing off strongholds of sin will be met with opposition.  We know where the opposition lies...it's just plain ole' evil.

Oh...now I see how I can bring this back to Teddy Roosevelt...
He once said that you
"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are."

O.k. so what can I do...
I can exercise today.

What do I have?
I have scones in the house...so I have to freeze all but one.

Where am I?
I'm at a weak point since we're home all day, and I need to be mindful of that.

What problems and sins do you struggle with?
Whatever just popped into your head...
that's the one.
Let's not forget that Colossians 3:17 says
"whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

So do
"what you can, with what you have, where you are"....and most importantly...Do it for the Lord.

I love it! I over hear cracking up cause I could have written this post.
There are forces that would like to trip us up. Sometimes we forget that.
Thanks for reminding me to do what I can, with what I have, right where I am. Everything I need to fight the good fight I already have.

BTW....those scones look good. You can freeze them all, but 2 because I want one :)
