Taming the Tongue Tuesday

The thought you thought!
Yep THAT one.

The random "I don't like..."
"Did she really..."
"Why doesn't he..."
(you can fill in the blank...)

Was that a thought that requires you to speak...
or is it something that is better left alone.

We form judgement, words, actions...
based on our limited knowledge.

We form judgement, words, actions...
based on OUR preceived righteousness...

We're just being KNOW IT ALLS!

So before we talk...
let's follow John...
Judge not according to the apperance, but judge righteous judgment.
John 7:24

Whenever we judge...it should be unto righteous correction...
not because you don't like someone having a new car...
a new dress... a party you didn't get invited to...

Sometimes we judge because we feel out of control in one area of our lives...
so let's go over here and exact some CONTROL...
and LET THEM KNOW...
how
IT'S SUPPOSE TO GO!

Ummm that's Bullying....

God wants us to talk, think, speak...
like this...
Give therefore thy servant an
UNDERSTANDING heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad.
1 King 3:9...

That verse was for a king...a leader...someone in charge.
If we aren't in charge...we aren't suppose to be doing the judging...

If we ARE in charge...like a mom or boss...
we HAVE to judge...
with understanding and with mercy...

This is good to chew on when dealing with our kids, relatives, spouces...
anyone we encounter...

Let our voices speak understanding and mercy...
understanding and mercy!

Ugh..it's so easy to judge, isn't it? And so easy to want to justify ourselves!!! Yucky flesh!
