Friday Photo Flashback...A Jheri curl Christmas...

Of course the next few weeks will be
Friday Photo Flashback with a Christmas theme...
but I'll be featuring bloopers...
well unless I get sentimental...

I'll start in the 80s and go from there...

I can't believe I'm posting this...
(please look at the link...hilarious)

Hair glistening in the sun...
greasy and dripping.
I asked my brother and sister could I show them with jheri curls...and they both said "NO!"
It's not like anyone they know reads this blog... I guess just the thought of it being out there is too much to handle.

So...I'm showing myself solo...I can't BELIEVE I had one...

and for a long time too! (I didn't want to give mine up!)

but it was 1986 and it was time...

my last Christmas with the jheri curl...

and my favorite Esprit sweater...
(living near the outlet helped...)

oh my goodness...opening YSL Paris cologne...
(I'm such a smell junky...but I'm trying to cut back..)
My first year of college and I had just come back home...

I love this living room photo...it's so 80s...
when more was more...
oh the gold tone carpet...
from plant holders...to the double cassette small boom box playing Christmas music...
the next year my mom's decor went Miami Vice...everything went white and sand colored...
(sorry a little fuzzy...I guess my 35 mm wasn't acting right)

You look good on it.

Couldn't get a holiday photo since we don't have a scanner so I am sharing grade school photos again.

Yupp! Total 80's! Especially with the double cassette player. Now, that is livin' large! I remember going to the Esprit store in San Francisco in the late around 1988. It was soooo awesome! So bright and colorful in there, of course! And you look pretty in your sweater AND jheri curl!!

OK I said I wasn't going to comment on my own photo but...when I see that fuzzy photo of my mom's living room...I get a wave of lonely wash over me. Missing you mom! Telling dad stuff just isn't the same!

The fun thing is that at the time , it was perfect and hip. Then we move on and look back funny at ourselves :)

Ahh those memories. I wish I had photos of then.

Thanks for sharing.

Enjoy your weekend.

I can't stop laughing. I meet a lady a few weeks ago at one of our sister churches. Guess what?! She had a jheri curl! I had to take a second look.
I remember I had "good hair" before my momma put that jheri curl on my hair. She said she got tired of combing it!
In closing.....remember the plastic bags we had to wear over our hair at night?! Heehee!

I would appreciate more visual materials, to make your blog more attractive, but your writing style really compensates it. But there is always place for improvement
