My response to the "Mothering Committee"

Dear Mothering Committee...
(you've got to read Monday's post first...)

HEY!
Ya You! Mothering Chick!
Over here!

Yeah...that's me...struggling forgiven child of God making it through life a day at a time.

Yep. I've got on high water velour jogging pants... No...I don't have the matching jacket.
I accidentally gave that away to the rescue mission in a flurry of de-cluttering.

Yeah...I might possibly be picking up my child from school in said pants as well...and if I've got anything left on my Starbucks card from my secret sister...
I'll be strolling in with a Grande Apple Spiced Cider....

So I've read your letter and it's all true...

Many things could be tightened up around here...but what would happen when...

a huge balloon floats by outside
and we take off in the car to follow it...

it's a sunny day and we run to the
beach and goof around...

we make a fire in the fireplace and
pretend we're on a stranded pacific island.

Serendipitous acts don't come without a price...

so let the price be quality of clothing, dinner, and my (perceived) image.

Hey...we can always rewash yesterday's outfit, eat veggie's and cereal for dinner, and worry about our image later.

Life is happening...right now!

Do you have veggies and cereal for dinner too? Abbie always laughs at me for letting the kids have cereal for dinner but making them eat broccoli with it!

ok...I do this most Wednesdays when Bill isn't home. They pick the cereal and they pick the veggie. Bry ALWAYS picks soybean pods and the other two don't care...but lately this hasn't been enough dinner for Billy so I've ended up cooking a hamburger patty as well. Tell Abbie...don't laugh at it until you try it.

I feel that each lunch or dinner should be served with a vegetable. Even if we go to McDonald's I have my children eat a vegetable afterwards.

this is funny! I feel like you needed to vent. i feel like that too sometimes. Espcially when others seem to have to tell me what we do as a family aren´t right. It´s not their place. anyway.. I think it´s great to cut back on something to enjoy something with your family. I cut back on shoes and clothes too so I can have fun with my boys. Sometimes it´s not conciously but I so need some shoes now but seem to find other things to spend money on for my boys. LOL
