How does MOMMY adjust when they go to camp?

Well it's finally happened....

My little Peter and Moses all rolled into one...
my spitfire...
the boy that puts the "oy" in boy...

is leaving for Centikid Camp...
for 5 days with some other 5th graders.
(he's the one pointing up...3rd from right)...

without me. (ok my dear hubby is going...but I'm not there.)

I don't know what he's thinking...
leaving his mom here alone with his other brothers.
Sure I love them too.

But we are kindered spirits.

We're both middle children.

We both love to swim...

and truth be told...I might have been a little hard to handle myself as a child...
although there are no witnesses to testify...so I'll assume I was an angel...

We both like to eat whatever I make for dinner without complaining...

Who's going to gush over my dinners?

Who's going to playfully attack and push your brothers?

Who's going to make me stop for every homeless person we see?

It's very quiet around here already and the silence is nice...
but I'll have quite a bit of time on my hands while your gone...

Someone asked me..."Boy I'll bet you're excited that Ney is leaving for a week?"

I told them.."Not really." Don't they know he's just a young pup. Most folks don't get a chance to see he really has a BIG heart and is very giving...
and under that rough exterior is a boy who has a smile that melts me every time...

Isn't that the cutest smile?
Smile more baby,...talk less...that's the key!

Sorry folks...you have to personally know
my son to know his mouth gets him in a bit of trouble...every time!

Have a great week...Ney-ney! We love you!

Not one tear from kid or mom over here; she is very good at going away and I feel very confidant in her going, if you know what I mean. My oldest baby is self-reliant and confident and outgoing. When my number 2 gets to that age, though, it will be a totally different kind of thing. Every minute she is away I worry about her and my heartstrings are tugging till she comes home. You understand, I know!

Lorrie...I know how you feel! My 9 yr old is going to camp in August (with the other elementary kids from church). They will be gone for a week, and this will be his FIRST time away, without us!!!! He is the sweetest, and the easiest of the bunch. Just thinking of him being gone that week makes me want to cry!!!!! Okay, now I'm sad again! LOL

Do you know I love that boy of yours even though I've never met him!! And he does have a beautiful smile...I bet he has a huge heart too!

I have twin spitfires...they keep me challenged and on my toes. They also give the best hugs and are full of love :) You are a good mama. I hope you all have a great week.
