Wednesday's Wonderful Woman...

What's the one thing you consider your trial? a test? your troubles?  The one thing that if God would take it away...you'd think...ahhhhh...."my life is near perfect".

Well that very thing isn't there not for destroying us...but instituted in bringing us closer to our Father and providing comfort to others?

How can this be? "I'd like it to go away", you say.

I just finished reading 90 minutes in heaven. ( I know...I'm about 3 years behind...but what a great read.  If you haven't read it...you must.)

Anyhoo...what struck me from the book was the fact that
we ALL face hardships in life.
For Don Piper it's physical handicaps that constantly dog his body.
Hardships come in all different shapes and sizes.
I think we all forget that.

2 Corinthians 1: 3-4 says
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

That is so awesome!

God comforts us in our troubles...we in turn comfort those who are in trouble...and we can do that because we ourselves have been comforted by God.

Only a mother who's longed for a child and waited years can listen and fully understand the same for a woman who longs for a child.

Only a daughter who's father has died of cancer can walk into the cancer ward and speak with conviction to a family who faces the same pressures.

Only a single mom can speak with true understanding how to handle work, home, children and be father and mom in a household to another single mom.

When we've go through daily struggles and trials we can speak with our own testimony to comfort someone who's hurting.  When we've experienced the same struggle there is a unspoken confirmation that..."Yes...you really do understand me. God has not left me alone."

Let's praise God that we can comfort those who need comforting...and isn't it a blessing we can comforted by others.

Now...
Someone you know is facing some troubling times.  How can you comfort them?

A person just popped into my head.  I just met her recently and we've communicated a few times.  I think God really wants me to get to know her better because I know how she's hurting.

Who's the person that you can comfort...

yeah...that person...

Be a little "Jesus with skin on" to them today.

Wednesday's Wonderful Woman

....is you!

Blessings

Wise, wise words!

More Than Words said...

I always say that regardless of the trials that we go through, God will use it for His glory. We will be able to use that situation as a testimony, and to also make us more compassionate for other people going through similar things!!

Really, in the end, our trials are to draw us closer to God, and ultimately, He will get all the glory!!!

Thanks for these words. My Pastor always tells us that what you go through is not for you, but for someone else. We cannot help someone based upon what we've never experienced! They probably wouldn't listen to us. My trials become my testimony, my testimony can help others :)

Amen licia31...I firmly believe that. I've talked to the lady who comment she couldn't go to church several times and I told her that I use to be that lady but now I go and am blessed. She only listens to me because she knows I've been through the same thing. What doesn't kill us...makes us stronger for His glory.
