Swine flu? There's something worse

Well it's finally a little close to home.  Two junior highs in the county I live in have been closed due to the swine flu outbreak.  See here   Should we be scared?  Should we be concerned? Well yes and no.  The outbreaks are happening with the very poor and people that travel frequently between Mexico and the United States. Although that's not my circle of people I see daily,  I do frequent thrift stores and shops where it might be a problem. With that said...I think I'll be forgoing my usual Thursday farmer's market trip just to be on the safe side.  If you watch any of the media...you'll think we're all going to die.

We aren't all going to die from the swine flu but...we will all eventually die.  Do you know the Savior and the one who will meet you when you do that?  Many times there are folks sitting right up in the church...headed straight to hell.  They have never taken the time to actually give their hearts to Jesus and make them Lord of their life.  They serve on committees and run around working and working.  They are visible and they are the ones sitting in the back pew. They are our children and our grandchildren.  Right now...we all have people within our areas of influence that are dying and going to hell.  Sorry to be so blunt...but that's scarier than the swine flu!

What can we do about it?  Well for one...pray for the Holy Spirit to convict.  Next, you can act. If it's a child or grandchild...give them the plan of salvation. Take them to church if you can. If it's a sibling (like in my case), maybe now's the time to have a calm discussion about how you're concerned for them and their eternity.  They might not take you seriously...but that will get them thinking!

Whatever the case...if there are people you know need the Lord...lift them up in prayer today. We're to sow the seed...let God deal with reaping the harvest.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is a gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.

Blessings

I have been amazed at the fear that been poured out over this nation. I pray the fire of the Lord surround us and burn up any unclean germs in the Name of Jesus. I pray protection over my family each day. Everyone should cover themselves in prayer on a daily basis.

You are right on -- all will die eventually (unless Jesus comes back for us first).
