I love that J.O.Y.

I just read my pastor's e-votional and it had the neatest acronym for having Christmas joy during this season. J- Jesus, O-Others and Y-Yourself. As I reflect on this I realize that regardless of the hustle and bustle that we are all starting to feel, if we focus on J.O.Y. then we really won't feel that pressured at all. The problem that most of us mom's face is keeping events in balance and focusing on activities that honor Christ as oppose to doing things that are glory for ourselves or even for the glory of others. Many things done "in the name of Christmas"..."in the name of the church"..."in the name of good Christians" aren't Christ centered and they take people farther away from Christ instead of drawing them close to Him. If we can focus on the real things of Christ (His word, prayer, Christ centered family time, Christ centered fellowship) then we really will be given the best gift at Christmas...we'll get closer to Jesus.

Matthew says - Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.
