our "almost" date night.

Last night was really nice.  B. is usually home the week of thanksgiving from work and this year is no exception.    The obvious difference is he is now facing the holidays without his mother. As we talked and remembered her last night in front of a fire he kept saying..."I keep replaying the last 3 weeks of her life...what could I have done different?"  I finally interrupted (o.k. I interrupt all the time) and told him..."it is what it is."  "No matter how much you run scenarios you can't change what happened."

God knows what we are faced with each day and He knows the thoughts that we focus on.  He knows that we will endure hard ache and pain.  He knows that we have straying thoughts and we can be influenced by the slightest of thoughts in any direction.

He knows if you are short money this month, or short health.  He knows if you're short on seeing your grand kids or just lonely for your mom. He even knows if you're just lonely....period.  "He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord!"  Isaiah 26:3.  Get some time and read the rest of that chapter and the one before and after.  Look to God and you will have peace...that's something we've all got to remember.
